V Key Ranch began in 2016 with something simple: we wanted to feed our own children healthy, high-quality beef that we could feel good about putting on our family’s table.

What started with raising cattle for our family, soon grew when our family and friends tasted the difference and began asking to purchase beef from us. Before long, what started as a way to feed our own family became a family-owned and operated ranch dedicated to providing quality beef directly to other families.

For Eddie Peña, ranching is more than a business—it is a way of keeping a family heritage alive that began several generations back. He grew up raising cattle on his family’s ranch in Mexico, but the herd was sold in 1998. Today, Eddie is the only member of his family who continues to raise cattle. Through V Key Ranch, he is teaching our three boys the same ranching traditions, responsibility, and hard work that shaped his life, giving them the opportunity to carry that legacy into the future. Victoria grew up around agriculture as well, raising steers through FFA in high school, but did not officially start ranching until she married Eddie.

Today, the ranch has become a place where our entire family comes together. Each of us has a role in raising the cattle and building V Key Ranch. Some of our greatest lessons are learned on horseback, working cattle, caring for the land, and working together as a family. And in the quiet moments on the ranch, we feel especially close to God. 

From Our Ranch to Your Table

Our cattle are raised using traditional ranching methods, including working cattle on horseback. Our cattle spend their lives on grass before being finished on grain. We take pride in having a hand in every step of the process, from birth to harvest.

That's what makes V Key Ranch different.

We can tell you who your calf's mama and sire are, when it was born, what it ate, how it was raised, and how it made its way from our ranch to your table. We believe you deserve to know where your food comes from and how it was raised.

Our customers often tell us that our beef is the best they've ever tasted. While we're proud of that compliment, we're even more proud of the trust behind it.

At the heart of V Key Ranch are the values we want our children to carry with them: faith, family, hard work, honesty, stewardship of the land, responsible cattle raising, quality food, and serving our local communities.

Our vision is to continue growing V Key Ranch—more cattle, more acreage, and eventually providing our beef to families across the country.

But success to us isn't measured only by how big the ranch becomes.

Success is raising three boys who understand the value of hard work. It's preserving a way of life that could have been lost when Eddie's family ranch in Mexico sold their herd. It's teaching the next generation how to care for animals, respect the land, serve others, and keep faith at the center of everything we do.
